Deutsche Tanzkompanie

Portrait

An important part of our work for us is to preserve traditional movement patterns and to combine them with contemporary themes and forms. Without this affectionately but critical handling of the past and its artistical forms, we can not understand the present and look into the future. To recover - to edit - to renew - that is the short description of our working process. The Deutsche Tanzkompanie is a deeply rooted in its hometown Neustrelitz and the region around it. The center of our work is the communication with our audience. Every evening should be a pleasure to them, challenge them, surprise them with new forms of dancing and narrating and make them reflect on relevant issues of our time.

"Who we are - where we are from - where we are going to? For me the dancing body is most tightly connected to theater itself. Because the dancing body is a narrating body. Fears, desires and hopes are energies I like to tell stories about as a choreographer."
