Ballett TN LOS!

Portrait

The ballet TN LOS! currently consists of 12 dancers. The company, which includes dancers from 7 nations, is directed by Ivan Alboresi since the 2016/2017 season. In the 2023/2024 season, the company will present three new productions as well as a BALLET GALA as a prelude to the season. In the »Ballett hautnah« series, the audience has the special opportunity to experience a moderated rehearsal with the creative team as an introduction to the current production.

With the dancers of Ballett TN LOS!, ballet director Ivan Alboresi has a ballet company whose outstanding reputation now extends far beyond the borders of Nordhausen. In the renowned magazine TANZ, the company was nominated as Company of the Year for the double »Der Feuervogel/Humpback Runner«. Volkmar Draeger described the evening as »brilliant in terms of dance and acrobatics, stylistically versatile and explosive in terms of performance«. In addition to this magnificent double ballet evening, the TN LOS! ballet also impressed audiences last season with its interpretation of Johannes Brahms' »Ein Deutsches Requiem« in the St. Blasii Church, which was always sold out. The standing ovations at every performance spoke for themselves.

The company's branding are powerful, acrobatic, full of emotions and visually stunning ballet evenings. The dancers are also an essential pillar of the operetta and musical productions of the Theater Nordhausen/Loh-Orchester Sondershausen GmbH. Internationally successful guest choreographers such as Kevin O'Day, Marguerite Donlon, Itzik Galili, Douglas Lee, Jiři Pokorný, Giovanni Insaudio, Max Levy, Tu Hoang and Hiro Murata expand the company's expressive possibilities and constantly place new, unusual demands on the ensemble. An artistic engagement in the Nordhausen company requires a profound classical as well as modern training.

History and biography

On the history of the ensemble
The Nordhausen Theater, which opened in 1917, has had its own ballet company since 1954. It staged one to two productions a year, and in the 1990s even three of its own. From 2004 to 2016, Jutta Ebnother was ballet director in Nordhausen and established the Nordhausen Ballet Days (Nordhäuser Balletttage), which still enjoy great popularity today. Ivan Alboresi, born in Italy, has been ballet director in Nordhausen since 2016. He wants to have an impact on the city, network with the people of the region, and at the same time invite internationally successful choreographers to work with his ensemble in order to also highlight current trends in the multifaceted world of dance.

Ivan Alboresi completed his dance education (classical, modern) at the Accademia del Teatro Nuovo di Torino and at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. His engagements as a dancer took him to theaters such as Wiesbaden, Ulm and St. Gallen. 2001-2014 he was a permanent member of the ballet company of the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg. He has worked with choreographers Heinz Spoerli, Youri Vámos, Ben van Cauwenbergh, Anna Vita and Birgit Scherzer, among others. Since 2006 he has been working as a choreographer and director at various theaters. His work, for which he would receive several awards, led him to the Opera Nice, the Landestheater Linz, the Theater Erfurt and the Theater Hof, among others.

„Dance is honest, dance cannot lie, dance turns your innermost thoughts outside.”

"Always searching for the quality of movement that captures the emotional essence of each moment in each case, I improvise, seeking to adapt the movements to the dancers until the image I have in my mind becomes visible through them. Strong emotional images, created with a large repertoire of movements of the dancers, touching and captivating - and with high perfection - are my goal."
